Root and Sciver-Brunt head PCA awards shortlist

The ECB has announced the shortlist for the PCA awards, with Joe Root and Nat Sciver-Brunt leading the pack.

Root has been in exceptional form this season, leading the England cricket team to series wins against India and South Africa.

Sciver-Brunt, on the other hand, has been a standout performer in the women’s team, showcasing her all-around skills with both bat and ball.

Other notable names on the shortlist include Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Heather Knight, and Sophie Ecclestone.

The winners of the PCA awards will be announced at a gala ceremony later this month.

This year’s awards are particularly special as they mark the 50th anniversary of the PCA.

The awards celebrate the achievements of players across all formats of the game, as well as recognising the contributions of coaches, officials, and volunteers.

Root and Sciver-Brunt will be hoping to add to their already impressive trophy cabinets with a win at the PCA awards.

Stay tuned for updates on the winners and highlights from the gala ceremony.
